Cipriana C. - Pet Care Professional and Dog Trainer - Saugerties, NY
Nice to meet you! My name is Cipriana Costello. I offer Relationship-Based dog training and pet care in the Mid-Hudson Valley, NY. I specialize in basic obedience, advanced obedience, and behavior modification for family and working dogs. I offer solutions for puppy raising, crate training, leash walking, separation anxiety, and human and dog reactivity.
I have always loved all animals. When I was young, my answer to “what do you want to be when you grow up?" was always “rescue animals”. My mother nurtured my love for rescue from a young age. From moving turtles and lizards from the road, to stray cats and loose dogs darting through traffic, we helped them all. But how does someone rescue animals for a living? Surely that’s not a nine-to-five gig you find in the classifieds. Well, that is what I spent my young adult life trying to figure out. After graduating from Rider University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 2017, I started working as a veterinary assistant at a local veterinary office in Saugerties, NY. I filed the rest of my time pet sitting, boarding, and dog walking which was the sed that started my business today.
In 2020, I filled my newly found free time interning for a local dog trainer in Catskill, NY where I learned the basics of dog training, puppy whelping, puppy raising, scent work, tracking, trailing, search and rescue, detection, service dog training, bite work, protection sport, and more.
During that time, I put my childhood dreams together with my passion for dog training and realized that one of the best ways to “rescue animals” is to get and keep them out of shelters (and in their homes) with owners who just need some help. And now that is what I get to do every day by providing individuals and families who are looking for a better relationship with their dog with the tools and resources to reach their training and lifestyle goals.
Humans and our canine companions see the world in very different ways. That’s why I am here. Let me help you understand how to best communicate with your dog while also making the human world clearer from the canine perspective.
Please book and pay me on Petworks. Thank you.
