Unique Kintsugi Pet Memorial Dishes - Nationwide
Pet Memorial Dishes are created using the Japanese art of Kinsugi (golden joinery). Kintsugi offers a concrete symbol of the hard, rewarding work of mourning that we must do when we're grieving. Kintsugi is a method for reconnecting broken ceramic or other materials, giving them new strength through beauty. Rather than breakage being a reason to throw something away, it offers opportunity for repair, which then becomes part of the pottery’s history. The repair has a beauty of its own that stems from its continued usability. Kintsugi symbolizes the pets, people, and work that we love and have lost through death and other life transition. It symbolizes that we can continue to love, allowing us to be whole, healthy, and reasonably content. Grief’s broken edges can be reconnected and softened through mourning. Shattered hearts are gilded by continuing to love.
These Kintsugi art pieces are made from broken pawprint red heart dishes of approximately 3.5" X 3.5", and each is unique in its broken points. Each includes a Swarovski crystal and is hand signed. $40.00 each.
A black wooden stand can be purchased for the pawprint hearts for an additional $5.00, which is my cost for ordering them.
Kintsugi pieces are not intended to be used for food or washed/soaked.
