The Persuaded Pooch - Dog Training - St. Louis, MO
Sarah Hoth, KPA-CTP, Owner/Trainer.
Sarah Hoth’s journey into dog training began in 2003 when she rescued a 10-month-old Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler/Lab mix named Ozzy, a dog full of challenging behaviors. Determined to help him, Sarah immersed herself in dog training and behavior literature, sparking a fascination with assistance dogs and their transformative impact. This led her to apprentice with a local service-dog organization, eventually serving as their Development Director while contributing to training programs for service, hearing, therapy, and pet obedience dogs.
In 2010, Sarah earned her certification as a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP), mastering effective, positive, reward-based behavior modification methods. She continues to uphold the KPA standards and takes the trainer’s pledge annually.
Sarah has since deepened her expertise through ongoing education, including seminars, conferences, and workshops. With a background in customer service, degrees in Communication and Social Sciences, and experience in natural pet nutrition, Sarah brings a well-rounded understanding of how both dogs and humans learn and interact.
If you’re facing challenges with your dog, Sarah offers positive, tailored solutions to improve behavior and strengthen the bond between you and your pet. Training is about understanding your needs, your dog’s needs, and building trust and respect. Sarah and her team are eager to help you and your dog thrive.
