Strengthen Your Canine Human Bond - Dog Training - Vienna, VA
Through positive reinforcement dog training, you can create mutual respect and harmony between you and your canine and teach them the tools they will need to be successful in any situation. Building a strong bond between the canine and their human partner allows them to work together with loose leash guidance and without negative restraints.
Michele emphasizes that it is important to know that the human/canine relationship is a two-way street: that pet dogs need great training, obedience and communication skills and their owners need training, patience and education on how to achieve that relationship. She will help you with proper “tool” selection and education on how to use those “tools” that best fit the dog and the needs and abilities of the owner. Any tool that is used in dog training must be used humanely and respectfully so you always connect with your dog using a positive association that builds trust. When dogs are given rules and boundaries, they feel safe, loved and know what is expected of them. Misbehavior often happens when the dog does not understand what is being asked of them. If we “give the dog a microphone”, we will see the dog is usually asking a question in their own unique way. Clear communication with defined rules and boundaries is a winning situation for both the dog and the human as it keeps the dog in their comfort zone of feeling safe, balanced and loved.
One of the most important aspects of dog training is FUN! Training your dog should be a fun experience for both the human and the dog. Seeing that spark of recognition in a dog’s eye when they “get” what their human is asking is one of the most exciting times in dog training. Michele’s training approach is always to help the owner remember the FUN in training while we teach our dogs the skills they need to be a happy member of our families.
