Above all, we want you to be treated with dignity and respect as we guide you through the process of saying goodbye. We know this is a very difficult time during your pet’s end-of-life because of illness or old age. Signs of suffering, quality of life, and many more topics are questions that our veterinarians have answers for so you can prepare. Surround yourself with family and friends and give your other pets time to say goodbye. Every pet-loss journey is unique, but as pet parents, we all share the desire to extend the lives of our beloved companions for as long as possible in a humane way.
When your pet’s quality of life declines to the point where recovery from constant pain, discomfort, or anxiety is no longer possible, or they can’t meet their basic needs, most veterinarians will recommend euthanasia as a compassionate option to ease their suffering. When a good life is no longer viable, a peaceful death becomes the kindest choice.
To help make this difficult decision, we suggest these six steps:
Hang in there. It’s an incredibly tough choice, but as their caregiver, you know best when your pet's suffering outweighs their quality of life.
We can help. If your situation is urgent or an emergency, please call us for help at 877-219-4811. Thank You.
