Nails & Tails Pet Care Services - Loganville, GA
Retired vet tech who ❤️s drop-ins
I was a veterinary nurse for 10 amazing years before retiring from Bridge Park Animal Hospital in 2020. My husband & I have 3 wonderful children, 3 rescue kitties & we just recently adopted 8 hens who have stolen our hearts!
While in my care, you will never have to wonder how your furbabies are doing because I enjoy sending multiple photos & video updates a day.
No matter the breed or species; from cats and dogs to reptiles and rodents, I enjoy caring for them all!
I’m trained to administer/perform a variety of tasks e.g. insulin shots, intravenous fluids, subcutaneous fluids, transdermal medications, oral meds, tube feedings, etc.
I’ve had the pleasure of caring for the following breeds & species:
Great Danes, “Toy” breeds, “Teacup” Breeds, “Miniature” breeds, Maine Coons, Brachycephalic breeds, Working breeds, Agility dogs, Ferals, Amphibians, Reptiles, Aquatic life, Cockatoos, Chickens, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas, Hamsters, Rats, and Gerbils.
Over the years, I’ve cared for many animals from all different walks of life: some recovering from surgery, others who have special needs, and abuse cases coming from rescues.
Pet care for me is not only a passion but also something I take great pride in. Being home full-time has been bittersweet & I genuinely miss providing specialty care to the community. As a mother, pet owner, and trained veterinary nurse; being a caregiver is just WHO I AM.
I love drop-in visits most because animals are more comfortable when in familiar surroundings. I do occasionally board small caged pets (Guinea pigs, bearded dragons) & when they’re here, they are treated like family! I send very detailed reports and LOTS of pics/videos of their stay. For drop-ins, I try to make my visits as familar for your pets as I can. I’m extremely detail oriented so if maintaining a routine is important to you: I’m your gal!
Pet care fits into my daily routine on early mornings before school drop off which is 9am & again after school drop offs from 9:30am to 5:30pm while my children are at school. Night time pet routines are also easy as my children are in bed by 8pm
I don’t get to do much boarding these days as my son has special needs but during my drop-in visits I make sure to maintain a soft voice and a quiet entry/exit as to not frighten your pets in their safe place. I am very patient and I do not like to rush home visits. I take my time to gain your pet’s trust and also leave them be if it appears my presence is causing stress. I allow your pets to control the dynamic of our relationship rather than forcing interaction. The goal is to always ensure they feel safe when I am around.
