Holistic Therapies Animal Massage - Flagstaff, AZ
The modalities I use are holistic, integrative methods that improve the overall health and wellness of the ones you love:
-- Myofascial release offers pain relief, stimulates the motor nerves, brings relief from restlessness and sleep disturbance, improves proprioception.
-- Craniosacral therapy addresses performance issues, behavior problems, chronic pain, chronic medical conditions, emotional problems.
-- Kinesiology taping supports injured muscles and joints, helps correct biomechanical/postural dysfunction, improves performance and recovery.
-- Cold laser therapy uses low-intensity lasers to stimulate healing at the cellular level. It encourages the production of endorphins while activating signal-blocking nerve cells. (Not included in the bodywork session.)

Session = 1 location. A small taping session would include most minor contusions. Due to the fact that most horses tend to "go big or go home", only a few tapings will fit into this category.
Session = 1 location. A medium taping session would include most muscle strains and joint pains for average-sized horses. Typically, these tapings will need to be repeated for lasting results.
Session = 1 location.
A large taping session would include full-length back support or an individual meridian for an average-sized horse. These tapings often need to be repeated within 24-48 hours for best results.
The benefits of bodywork are cumulative, give your horse the gift of regularly scheduled weekly therapy sessions -- even when there are 5 weeks in the month.

How did you hone your craft?
I earned my Equine Myo-Functional Therapist and Equine Kinesiology Tape Practitioner certifications working on horses from a variety of backgrounds. Some were rescues, some were companions, others served as mental health therapists. They all brought love and joy into the lives they touched. As I complete my Feline Bodywork Practitioner certification, I'm working mostly with the cats who live at High Country Humane.
What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
They aren't that different from ourselves. Attend to their mental and emotional health with the same care you bring to their physical needs.
What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!
I am an animal lover and have been all my life, with a special affinity for cats and horses. I chose animal bodywork as a way to return the unconditional love and support animals have blessed me with over the years. Nothing is more gratifying than to watch them release their stress and discomfort.
