Furry Well-Being - Certified Dog Trainer - Bellevue, WA
I am a certified, positive reinforcement trainer with over 10 years experience working with families and their pets. Passionate and focused on improving the well-being of more pets and families, I provided training consultations, in-home dog training, training walks, and pet care in the Bellevue and surrounding areas.
Many years ago I started my animal training journey training Misty the Shetland sheep and Betsy the Pygora goat at the Oregon Zoo. There I started understanding the wonderful world of positive reinforcement, the learning process, and animal husbandry. The many years since
filled with personal growth, professional dog training instruction, and pet care has created a wiser trainer but I am always dedicated to continue my understanding, knowledge and ability. There is always more to learn!
Every behavior has a cause, and every behavior that happens again has received some sort of reward. My training methods focus on setting up the right behavior and making sure it gets the most reinforcement. Positive reinforcement and reward-based training is my main tool for teaching new behaviors and strengthening already established ones. But I look at the whole picture. What health and environmental factors are playing apart.
Reinforcement can mean using treats but it doesn’t have to. Each dog has things they find rewarding whether it is your attention, playing with a toy, or tasty treat. Every day they get some kind of reinforcement but quite often it’s attention for being rambunctious. Lets work together to find a great training plan and reinforcement set up that you will both enjoy and learn from!
