Fabulous Oil Paintings of Dogs, Animals - Pet Portrait Art - Nationwide
I offer oil paintings of just about any animal that you may want painted, including horses, dogs, cats, birds, and wildlife. I work from photos so I don't even need to see your pet.
I'll have you send me several photos and then we can work together to get you the best portrait possible. Once we agree on a composition, I'll require 50% up front and the balance when the work is done.
These paintings are done on canvas which is stretched on wooden stretcher bars, and are not framed. I can also do framing, but I must charge extra for that.
If you are looking to have a portrait of your favorite horse, dog, cat, etc., painted, you've come to the right place. It doesn't matter if it's a racehorse or a family pet, I'll do it; and I guarantee you'll be satified.
I work in oils on canvas and will even frame them if you need.
I usually need at least 6 to 8 weeks to complete the painting. I work from photos that you supply.

How did you hone your craft?
I'm a self taught artist and have been painting since 1993. I'm constantly learning, and tend to learn something with each new painting, whether it's what brush to use to get a certain look, or the colors, lights and darks, I use to get a realistic looking painting. I also teach art classes.
What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
When taking photographs for me to work from, get down on their level and try not to get a complete profile or a direct full frontal shot. Try to get them to turn their head slightly. Good lighting is also a must. Try to avoid using a flash because it blasts out all the subtle details.
What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!
I used to be a horse jockey for over 20 years, riding over 20,000 races, and winning just short of 2,600.
