As an avid animal lover and local Pet Rescue supporter, ShawnaLee, supports local venues such as DAWS, NFSAW, Whiskers, Hidden Acres, etc.. ShawnaLee demonstrates and shows throughout CT and teaches art lessons to all ages and abilities throughout the year.
ShawnaLee has been in business creating traditional portraits since 1992 and has a CT State Tax Registration Number (007045867-000).
* The Traditional artist materials are authentic. This is mentioned because there are great number of "artist sites" offering portraits and claiming that they are hand done when in fact, they are digitally created "by hand”, printed and perhaps even dabbed with a few paints. ShawnaLee begins each painting with a drawing, and builds up the layers, by hand, very much like the old masters. She uses authentic quality artist materials and skills honed over a lifetime dedication to the arts. The exceptional quality of hand rendered art with traditional materials speaks for itself. Quality matters!
ShawnaLee also teaches art lessons via zoom! Class topics vary due to demand. Private lessons are available as well as Gift Certificates!

Take photos in natural light (like next to window or cloudy day); get on eye level about 6-10 feet away. Zoom in on the face and look for happy clear expressions.

My work is done entirely by hand honed from a lifetime of a dedication to the arts and a lifetime of living with lots of furbabies. I love animals and am excited to capture their personalities in my work.
