Dr. Jo-Anne Dixon's roots may trace back to Canada, but her heart belongs to the Pacific Northwest. Born in Canada and raised in Seattle, she embarked on a journey that led her to become a compassionate veterinarian. She proudly holds degrees from the University of Washington and Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. For 23 years, she dedicated herself to the field of veterinary medicine, initially as an associate veterinarian at the Sun Valley Animal Center in Idaho for a decade, followed by a remarkable 13-year tenure as the shelter medical director and executive director at Mountain Humane.

In Dr. Dixon's eyes, veterinary medicine is a noble profession of service. It's a calling to care for animals in need and to support their loving owners in celebrating the profound bond between humans and animals. Her dedication to this cause is unwavering, and every animal she cares for becomes a teacher, guiding her to be a better veterinarian and a better person. Dr. Dixon firmly believes that in-home euthanasia is a precious gift we can offer our beloved pets, allowing them to find solace and pass on in the familiarity of their home, surrounded by the love of their family.

Beyond her veterinary practice, Dr. Dixon finds joy in exploring the great outdoors of Central Oregon with her family and cherished pets. Family hikes with her dogs and horseback rides with her daughter are cherished moments in her life. Her furry family includes shelter huskies, Mookie and Onie, who adore playing in the snow and snuggling on the couch when permitted by their feline companion, Ellis. To complete the picture, her Dutch warmblood horses, Oxo and Topper, are affectionately referred to as the "Dutch Bros."
