Which part of the country do you serve pets?

What year did you begin serving pets?

Apprenticed in 2012. Certified in 2018.

How did you hone your craft?

I grew up with a difficult dog and never met an animal that didn't fascinate me. Eventually I realized teaching high schoolers wasn't where my heart really lies, but that the skills I picked up in the classroom are remarkably helpful for the "human" end of the leash in training scenarios. Learning how to teach two species at once was remarkably fun, though challenging at times.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

You are always part of the struggle, even as you are part of the solution. Take your own 'temperature', address *your* needs, then look at the animal.

What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!

I'm rather plain spoken but prone to dive too deeply into the nitty-gritty, nerdy, science stuff. Please don't expect some dry, boring ramble or be too offended if I slip in a 'grown up word' accidentally! We learn best in a fun, casual environment, which I try to provide while still being enthusiastic about the subject at hand.
